Lidl Headquarters

Transformation of a closed site into an open, flexible, and timeless space without any structural modifications.

Our agency was commissioned by Lidl for the execution project management and interior design of the office spaces, including a major phase of space planning.

This complex of four buildings covers 36,500 m², with 3,000 m² dedicated to retail. In addition to various collective and collaborative spaces (traditional offices, flex offices, relaxation areas, etc.), the project includes shared services such as a hotel, a concierge service, a company restaurant, a gym, and a shopping center, thus offering a complete and integrated experience for all users.

The buildings are accompanied by three basement levels housing technical rooms and two parking areas with 600 and 300 spaces respectively.

Innovative and ambitious, this project was carried out through a co-design approach, with active participation from Lidl employees in the definition and layout of the interior spaces, in close collaboration with our teams.

Our missions: execution management of the works, approval of execution studies, assistance with all-trades handover operations, verification of as-built documentation, guarantee of perfect completion, space planning (microzoning), interior architecture, and furniture recommendations.

Efficiency challenges

The objective of the interior project is to design an efficient office layout tailored to the company’s current needs: by including flexible, collaborative, open or enclosed workspaces, it allows everyone to find their place and an appropriate environment. The main challenge was to redesign a structure originally conceived as compartmentalized, in order to make it timeless and flexible. This challenge was met by combining the architectural identity of the site with the creation of more open spaces, offering flex office solutions and collaborative zones, all while respecting technical constraints.

An adapted methodology

To improve circulation and enhance the visibility of each department within the building, a color-coded space identification concept was proposed. These colors are reflected in architectural details and furniture, creating visually vibrant and luminous spaces.
