Le Chabichou

Extension and renovation of Le Chabichou, a hotel, restaurant, and spa in Courchevel.

Located in a magical setting at the foot of the slopes of the 3 Vallées ski area, Le Chabichou was completely renovated by Patriarche. A full transformation for this historic and renowned establishment, with eight months of construction work in 2019—a landmark year in which Le Chabichou earned its fifth star.

Patriarche carried out the complete renovation of the establishment, including interior architecture and decoration. The building consists of various extensions built over the years—a particularity that had to be taken into account during the renovation.
In response to the client’s expectations, Patriarche took on the challenge of maximizing floor space and designing high-quality, user-focused areas on a plot of land located to the north of the property.

The choice of materials for the extension was carefully considered to respect Le Chabichou’s architectural style and to integrate seamlessly with the existing structure.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere

True to the spirit of the establishment, Patriarche created a warm and elegant atmosphere to offer a unique experience across all areas: reception, guest rooms, spa, restaurant, bar, children’s area, staff accommodations, and circulation spaces. Le Chabichou’s gourmet restaurant—an institution in Courchevel for over 30 years—now enjoys an ambiance that blends authenticity with modernity.
The most prestigious and elevated volumes have been dedicated to hotel suites, either through-units or duplexes, ranging in size from 138 to 218 m².

Discreetly integrated into the natural slope, the new Ski Shop exit is clad in a stone base. Nineteen parking spaces are located below street level, served by a car lift with access via a covered ramp.

Given the context, the challenge of this project was to maximize floor area while ensuring high-quality spaces. The most prestigious above-ground volumes, offering views of the surrounding landscape, were allocated to hotel suites. The concept includes through-units and duplex suites ranging from 138 to 218 m².
