Our healthcare projects: architecture that combines care and technical expertise

On the occasion of the 2025 Hospital-University Conference, we reaffirm our vision of healthcare facilities and how architecture can help transform the care experience. At Patriarche, we design these places as spaces where architecture becomes a vector of compassion and efficiency. Our approach is based on an architecture of attention and care, going beyond the simple arrangement of functions to become a support for the healing process. This human-centered vision is combined with advanced technical expertise, essential to meet standards, operational constraints, and health-related challenges specific to this sector.

Putting people at the center

Each project is designed for those who live it: patients, caregivers, and support staff.

  • For the patient, we aim for a refuge-like architecture, a reassuring living environment capable of offering rest and serenity during the care process.
  • For relatives and companions, we imagine spaces where they have a place without being sidelined. Often playing an important role in the patient’s journey, they are integrated into the design as full-fledged users.
  • For healthcare professionals, we create ergonomic and comfortable environments that promote efficiency and quality of life at work. And since workplaces are also living spaces, we design areas where staff can recharge, relax, and escape when needed.
This vision takes shape through concrete features: refuge spaces, intimate rooms, clear signage, fluid and enveloping circulation, and shared areas open to light and landscape.

Healing architecture

Our projects incorporate the principles of healing architecture, an approach that considers the built environment as an active participant in the healing process. Natural light is treated as a therapeutic element: it structures spaces, aids orientation, and creates warm atmospheres. Vegetation appears in gardens, patios, or terraces to reconnect users with nature. Materials are selected for their sensory qualities—soft textures, soothing colors, controlled acoustics. Outdoor spaces become extensions of care: places for contemplation, walking, or meeting, contributing to patients’ physical and psychological recovery.

Expertise in healthcare facilities

With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, we have developed unique expertise in designing complex and highly secure environments. Our teams master the specific requirements of critical areas: operating rooms, cleanrooms, laboratories, intensive care units. We integrate the most demanding standards (NFS 90351, Good Manufacturing Practices) and ensure rigorous flow management to prevent cross-contamination. This expertise is supported by our Clean Concept division, dedicated to designing and controlling high-risk environments.

Architecture designed to last and evolve

Healthcare facilities must anticipate change: demographic growth, medical innovations, health crises. From the outset, we incorporate possibilities for extension and transformation so that buildings can absorb shocks, adapt to new uses, and accommodate innovative equipment.
