Pickleball Centre

A project that focuses as much on the game as on the experience.

Patriarche is supporting Centre Dekhockey Lotbinière in the development of its brand-new pickleball centre, scheduled to open in fall 2026 in Saint-Apollinaire.

Located next to the existing dek hockey facility, the project will strengthen a major sports hub on the South Shore of Québec City. The centre will feature eight indoor championship-size courts with acrylic surfaces, optimized lighting, and full acoustic treatment to deliver a high-quality playing experience. The courts will be arranged on either side of a central viewing aisle, encouraging energy and interaction between players and spectators.

More than just a place to play, the building has been designed as a gathering place offering a range of services. It will include locker rooms with showers and secure lockers, a specialized retail shop, a reception counter with sandwich service, a lounge-bar-café-smoothie area, and a practice space equipped with a projector — everything needed to extend the experience beyond the court.

At the front of the building, a single-storey, fully glazed volume will house a restaurant operating independently from the pickleball centre. With a capacity of around 150 seats, it will feature a retractable stage and be designed as a destination open to everyone, whether they come to play or not.

The architecture draws inspiration from the neighbouring building to create a cohesive ensemble, using durable materials such as aluminum and steel, enhanced with natural wood finishes that bring warmth and conviviality.
