The client is planning the construction of an industrial complex to complete the existing installations on its Pudong property.
The project consists in the creation of a large scale industrial complex by making the best possible use of the construction availability in the city of Pudong, all the while maintaining the coherence of the site, its necessary functionality as well as its artful integration into the landscape.
The project is composed along several levels, ranging from a large logistical and technical area on the north east facade of the future buildings, to a « street » which will bring together vertical and horizontal flows of the vehicle parking area, and three mixed-use buildings, lined up obliquely on the south west side of the lot, and separated by open patios for added light.
The composition principle consists in the creation of a large longitudinal volume on the North side of the parcel, to which we will connect three buildings separated by patios.
The city of Pudong's building code imposes that a minimum of 20% of the land dedicated to construction be set aside for green spaces. This is completly in line with the company's concern with sustainable development : it is a process which has long been established in their policies. The main facade (South West) will be the focus of our attention, where a linear park has been planned, and will hold several ponds (for rainwater drainage) endogenous aquatic plants, access walkways to the main entrances... This green space will filter in the new air which will be conveyed to the buildings underface and evacuated into the patios.
The trussed inspection corridors will give way to long and large metal planters wich will create a real vegetal facade structured by a stainless steel metal mesh.
