Patriarche & CO references many office buildings which required different types of know how. As for other projects the architects at Patriarche and Co are keen to conceive an architecture outwardly striking and inwardly livable.
In order to make users more comfortable, conception involves space management, choice of quality materials, accoustics, or natural lighting. Everything is articulated around a masterplan which makes room for open space before filled space, and working around serving and served areas.
Space planning is a discipline in itself : it consists in organising office space, by arranging workstations in open spaces or within closed offices. This organisation has to be thought out in order to encourage communication, but also respect of the neighbor’s working space and preserving some privacy. The choice of furniture has to favour ergonomy and comfort. For instance reprography tools are set in areas both accessible and isolated accoustically. Space planning also includes studies for human flows and circulation within an office building, and complements another Patriarche know-how, which is signage. The signage of a building is an inherent part of an architectural project : orientation, direction, indications, these messages need to be clear and structured, tailored to the building’s esthetics, and reflect function through a strong concept.
